I was on the fence about purchasing this, as it is expensive. But I absolutely hate dealing with food scraps. They stink up the kitchen sitting in the compost bin, the paper bags are a pain to get out of their holders, and sometimes the bags break open and spill rotten food all over my kitchen.
I am oh-so-glad that I splurged on this machine. You simply dump the food scraps into the bucket over the course of a day or two and then stick the bucket into the machine and let it run overnight. When it's done you basically have a pile of dirt. Dump the dirt into the paper compost bags and when the bag is full drag it outside to the curbside bin.
All-in-all, I'm in love.

Setting up was very easy, as the instructions are pretty clear about what to do to get it set up. It gives a pretty decent list of what you can and what you shouldn't put in it as well, so it was easy to find things to fill the bucket the first time use and after.
I have had no issues with jamming or anything so it definitely does its job well. I posted pictures of my most recent use, and a small video to show its not too loud. Honestly, it's louder in my video than what you actually hear while it's running. I forget it's on most the time it is so quiet. It's a fantastic option for people who like the idea of composting, but do not want the smells and mess composting can cause.

I researched this product for a year! Lol… in fact, I “sold” several of them to friends before moving in my new space and buying my own.

Can I add food waste once I’ve already started a cycle?
Yes, you can add additional food waste to the FoodCycler once the cycle has already begun.
For best results, and to avoid extending the cycle period, we recommend adding food waste early in the cycle—or within the first hour and a half of cycling. Adding food waste midway through the cycle may result in unprocessed food waste at the end of the cycle, as this extends the dehydration and grinding process. If this occurs, we recommend starting a second cycle until the food waste has been completely broken down.
